Criminal Defense Attorney, Austin, Texas
Who I am:

I was born and raised in Texas and I'll live here until I die. I've always been inspired by this state, including the freedom guaranteed to its citizens by the Texas and U.S. Constitution. The government has the right to make laws and the right to prosecute people it thinks break those laws, but you should know that if you have been arrested and charged with a crime, you also have rights. And if I am your lawyer, I'm sure going to assert them for you.

I graduated from Texas A&M and then enrolled in what I consider to be the best law school in the State of Texas: the University of Texas. I decided to do everything possible to become the best criminal lawyer in Travis County, beginning with clerking on the Court of Criminal Appeals where I had a chance to see what really happens when a criminal defendant appeals after being convicted.

Then I went to work for the legendary Frank Maloney, first president of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and got my wheels greased learning from an active practitioner. During this period, I also studied for and then passed the test to become board certified in Criminal Law and have been certified since 1980.

After seven years with him, I decided to look at things from the other side: I worked for Travis County District Attorney Ronny Earle. As an Assistant District Attorney, I prosecuted many serious felony cases. After for three years as a prosecutor, I decided it was time to be on my own.

I have lectured to other criminal lawyers at continuing legal education seminars, published articles, tried many cases and won many appeals, and every year of my active practice has made me a better lawyer.

Experience does matter. I put my experience, education, and hard work into representing my clients. If you need a criminal lawyer, then you should call me to arrange a free consultation about your case. I would be honored to be your attorney.

I look forward to hearing from you. David H. Reynolds
